ICEC Welcomes Alicia Vasto, our new Executive Director!
Alicia grew up in Adel, Iowa, attending ADM public schools and graduating as valedictorian in 2007. She received a Bachelor’s in Environmental Science from the University of Notre Dame in 2011. She then attained a Master of Environmental Management degree from Duke University in 2013, with a focus on land conservation and management. Following graduation, Alicia was a Wilderness Fellow with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service at Southeast and Southwest Louisiana National Wildlife Refuges. She then served as AmeriCorps Stewardship and Outreach Coordinator for The LandTrust for Central North Carolina. In February of 2016, she was hired as The LandTrust’s Operations and Communications Director. In her free time, Alicia enjoys kayaking, traveling, and yoga.
Of her new post with ICEC, Alicia said, “I am honored and thrilled to return to Iowa to promote conservation education as the Executive Director of ICEC. This topic is near and dear to my heart, and I hope to make a positive difference in the place I call home. I look forward to meeting everyone and getting started in this new role.”
