Greetings Friends of Conservation / Environmental Education,
It sure is difficult to plan ahead these days, but the Iowa Conservation Education Coalition (ICEC) is gearing up for our turn to host the Midwest Environmental Education Conference (MEEC) in 2021!
We are so excited to announce that MEEC will be held July 26-29, 2021 at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa.
MEEC is a biannual, regional conference hosted on a rotating basis by Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Illinois. It brings together hundreds of environmental and conservation educators of all kinds from across the Midwest to learn, share, and be inspired. MEEC has been happening since the early 1960s and was last held in Iowa in 2013 in Coralville.
ICEC will be serving as a lead coordinator of MEEC, but we need help! We are looking for conference planning committee and team members. You do not need to be a member of ICEC to be a part of this team, just passionate about conservation and environmental education and excited to bring MEEC to life in Iowa. There will be many roles and opportunities throughout the entire process, from selecting speakers and session presenters, to designing conference materials, to planning field trips and entertainment. We will find a way to fit all interests, skills, and availability!
Keep your eye on the MEEC website (meeconference.org) for additional information and updates to come. In the meantime, mark your calendar for July 26-29, 2021 and email Lilly Jensen with questions, suggestions, or ways you’d like to be involved.
Thank you and be well,
Lilly Jensen
