Teaching Outdoor Skills: An Introduction to Basic Outdoor Skills

Participate in a variety of basic outdoor skills and teaching resources/methodologies. Receive introductory instruction and lesson plans for planning outings, map reading, hiking, paddling, fishing, archery, campfire cooking, and basic firearm safety/shooting.

Registration fee covers rentals, supplies, resource materials, and meals (lunch and dinner on Day 1 and lunch on Day 2). Course meets 7/24 9:00 am – 6:30 pm and 7/25 8:30 am – 4:00 pm. Assignment due 8/8/2019.

Cost: participant only –  $100; recertification credit – $135; Drake – $210

Naturalists can create an account in AEA Online learning and register as “participant only” for any of these. Registration cost covers meals, teaching materials, rentals, and other expenses to run the workshop. Only individuals seeking credit are required to submit follow-up assignments.
